Davies drills a goal for Suns

Suns utility Alex Davies has come up with some big players this season and he just came up with a tackle that forced a holding the ball penalty.

He went back and kicked the ball right over the goal umpire’s head.

Huge goal for the Suns.

Freo’s All-Australian defender Jordan Clark flew high to punch away a certain goal for the Suns but he was tipped in the air and landed on his back and neck.

He remained down for several second before gingerly getting up.

Murphy Reid just continues to impress in his first AFL season.

He went up for a mark and was taken down by Bodhi Uwland and received a free kick.

Reid shook it off and went back to kick the goal.

Two goals for the pony

Voss powered out on the lead and took a strong mark.

He was locked in as he went back and nailed the shot for goal.

Voss appeared to give one his Suns’ opponents a tap on the backside as he jogged past after kicking that goal.

What a character.

But the Suns have hit back immediately as Humphrey again found the footy, this time with a deep mark in the forward line.

He played on quickly and kicked his second goal.

That toughness will fire up his teammates and they need a spark right now.

Quarter time stats

8.08pm

QT: Gold Coast 1.6 (12) to Fremantle 1.2 (8)

The wise heads in the Fox Footy commentariat will be burning through the microphones tonight after Freo star Michael Frederick chose to kick a grubber shot at an open goal and it missed.

Jason Dunstall will be preparing to scream bloody murder although he was on an earlier show, so that could save the Dockers star some additional anguish.

The Suns haven’t punished the Dockers for that miss as Ben King just missed a shot at goal.

Both sides have wasted chances – whoever gets their kicking boots on could take a big advantage here.
