Kremlin tells BBC foreign troops in Ukraine would be a ‘danger’ | BBC News



Russian President Vladimir Putin has rejected the idea of a “reassurance force” in Ukraine after any ceasefire comes into place.

At a Paris summit aimed at finalising plans for security guarantees, French President Emmanuel Macron said 26 of Ukraine’s allies had formally committed to deploying troops “by land, sea or air” after a ceasefire.

President Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the BBC’s Russia editor Steve Rosenberg that the pledge “…will not help us get closer to the solution of the Ukrainian conflict.”
