Coronation Street fans ‘feel’ a change coming for Carla Connor as they fear she may find herself on the wrong side of the law in upcoming scenes.
As fans of the ITV soap know, the Underworld factory boss recently saw her happy bubble popped following the latest twist in her relationship with Lisa Swain.
Things were looking up for the couple, dubbed ‘Swarla’ by viewers, after a rollercoaster of a romance so far with Carla’s ill health and the return of her killer brother, Rob Donovan, as well as Lisa’s battles with her job and her troubled past.
Earlier this month, there were joyous scenes as Lisa popped the question, following Carla’s two previous failed attempts to propose, in a sweet public dispaly of affection.
But as the celebrations continued, Carla watched her life be thrown in another direction as her new fiancée was faced with a ghost from her past.
Those who follow the long-running show know that the detective sergeant was left stunned during last Monday’s (September 8) episode when her late wife, Becky, proved to be very much alive.
In a shock turn of events, Becky turned up in the living room of Lisa and Carla’s new home, No.6 Coronation Street, despite her devastated family thinking she had been killed in the line of duty four years ago, on their daughter, Betsy’s, 18th birthday.

As those tuning in saw, Lisa struggled to believe Becky was standing in front of her, and was unable to get her head around the fact that Becky had allowed her and their daughter, Betsy, to grieve her for so long despite her whole death being fake.

Becky explained that she had spent the last four years in Spain under another name after being put into witness protection, following an undercover operation gone wrong.
But Lisa wasn’t buying Becky’s version of events and during Monday’s (September 15) episode of Corrie, Lisa confronted Costello about his involvement in Becky’s disappearance.
With Costello insisting that it is not a good time, Lisa decided to lock them both in the office and give him an ultimatum. After laying out the trauma Becky’s fake death put her and Betsy through, she demanded to know every detail of the plan to put Becky in witness protection.

When Costello still wasn’t seeming to want to budge from his original stance, Lisa made it clear that she wasn’t messing around and threatened to go to the press and blow the whistle. But she was left confused and heartbroken when he confirmed Becky’s version of events.
Meanwhile, Carla is trying to support her partner, but it was clear Becky had outstayed her welcome during her return to No.6 during Monday’s (September 15) Corrie instalment.
But fans think a return of Carla’s fiestier side could be on the cards, however, they’re fearful of what trouble Becky could cause for the beloved Weatherfield resident.
