First seven hostages released in Gaza are now back in Israel | BBC News

Seven Israeli hostages have been freed in Gaza and are now back in Israel, the IDF has confirmed.

In total, 20 living hostages are due to be released today – the hostages were kidnapped in southern Israel during the 7 October attacks in 2023.

In exchange for the hostages, Israel will release 250 Palestinian prisoners and more than 1,700 detainees.

US President Donald Trump has arrived in Israel, and will soon speak to parliament – he will then head to Egypt for a summit attended by around 20 world leaders.
