Free frights and family fun as Dublin celebrates Halloween 2025


Dublin City Council has unveiled dozens of fun-filled family-friendly events taking place across the city this spooky season.

Dublin City Council has announced a packed programme of more than 50 free, family-friendly Halloween events taking place across the capital this October.

These events have been planned in collaboration with local community groups. Lord Mayor of Dublin Councillor Ray McAdam said the celebrations are designed to bring communities together and honour the traditions of Samhain.

“Halloween is a magical time for families and communities to come together. Dublin City Council has brewed up a cauldron of fun, fright, and festivity for all ages. I encourage everyone to enjoy the events safely and celebrate the spirit of Samhain. Bí cúramach agus bainigí taitneamh as!” Cllr McAdam stated.

Event highlights for Halloween 2025 include:

Scare in the Square – Pearse Square Park, Dublin 2 – Friday 31 October, 4pm–8pm Get ready for a frightfully festive evening with carnival games, face painting, and a spooky DJ—plus a quiet session from 4pm–4.30pm for little ghosts who like it calm!

Crumlin Halloween Festival – Eamonn Ceannt Park, Dublin 12 – Friday 31 October, 12pm–4pm Hop aboard the ghost train and dance to live music while your little monsters enjoy face painting and magical fun!

Finglas Fright Night – Finglas Civic Centre, Mellowes Road, Dublin 11 – Friday 31 October, 5pm–9pm Step into a carnival of chills and thrills with fairground rides, carnival stalls, music, and face painters—perfect for a fun, safe, and free family night out!

Darndale Together After Dark – Darndale Belcamp Village Centre, Dublin 17 – Friday 31 October, 4pm–7pm Darndale transforms into a haunted haven of music, street theatre, and eerie tales—ending with a bang as fireworks crackle through the night!

Kilmore West Halloween Spooktacular – Kilmore Recreation Centre, Coolock, Dublin 5 – Friday 31 October, 12pm–2pm Coolock’s Kilmore Centre invites families to conjure up crafty fun and magical moments—just don’t forget to bring your grown-up ghost!

D10 Halloween Festival – Various locations in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 – Friday 31 October From BMX tricks to zombie runs and haunted houses, Ballyfermot is bursting with spooky spectacles and frightful fun all day long!

Dockers & Demons Festival – Ringsend, Irishtown & Dublin Docklands – 20–31 October Ringsend awakens with ghostly jogs, haunted houses, and phantom parades—dare to join the dockside demons? More information at: dockersanddemons.com

The Big Scream NEIC – North East Inner City – 21–31 October The inner city gets eerily energetic with scary yoga, spooky cinema, and a dog show that’s frightfully fabulous—there’s something for every ghoul! Dublin’s NEIC transforms into a cauldron of community spirit and spooky celebration with a 10-day festival packed with eerie excitement for all ages. See: bigscream.ie

Dublin 8 Halloween Events – Various locations – Friday 31 October From haunted harbours to spooky parades and houses of horror, Dublin 8 is crawling with creepy fun for brave souls of all ages!

The Haunted Harbour at the Hub, Digital Hub, Thomas St – 5pm–8pm Ghostly pirates and eerie treasures await.Fatima’s House of Horrors, F2 Centre, 3 Reuben Plaza, Rialto – 3pm–7pm Enter if you dare.Gore Thru Core Parade, Thornton Heights to Emmet Crescent – 4:30pm–6pm All welcome to join the spooky parade.

Halloween Comes Alive – O’Connell Street & North Earl Street – Friday 24 & Saturday 25 October, 3pm–7pm Wander through giant spooky props and boo-tiful decorations in the heart of Dublin—perfect for magical memories and hauntingly good photos!

Otherworld Halloween Festival – Trinity Comprehensive School Grounds, Ballymun Road, Dublin 9 – Friday 31 October, 6pm–9pm Ballymun’s biggest Halloween bash returns with spooky characters, funfair rides, circus acts, live music, and a dazzling fireworks finale—creepy costumes encouraged!

Boo! Cabra & Glasnevin – Various locations – Friday 31 October A series of spooky events and activities for families across Cabra and Glasnevin.
