Gardai in Co Galway are looking for information on an incident at a busy train station within the county.
The incident occurred near Oranmore train station along the Coast Road on Wednesday morning 5 November at around 6:55am.
A alleged collision occurred between a pedestrian and a man on a e-bike leaving the pedestrian with “very serious facial injuries” according to Gardai. Gardai have said that the man on the e-bike was wearing a North Face cap and apologised to the injured pedestrian, speaking with a “foreign accent”, after the collision.
A Garda spokesperson told Galway Beo: “Gardai at Oranmore Garda Station are appealing for witnesses to an accident involving a male pedestrian and a male on an E-Bike, this accident happened on the Coast Rd. Oranmore on Wednesday morning 5 November at approx. 06:55am.
“The male pedestrian was walking on the hard shoulder on the Train station side of the road when a male on an E-Bike hit him. This male spoke to the pedestrian and apologised to him, he spoke with a foreign accent and was wearing a North Face cap.
“The pedestrian sustained very serious facial injuries as a result of the collision. Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or if anyone might know the identity of the E-Bike operator is asked to contact Oranmore Garda Station on 091-388030.”
Gardai are also looking for information on a series of burglaries in and around the county, including two in the same area just days apart.
“On Thursday 20 November 2025 between 7:45pm and 11pm a house under construction at Farnablake, Athenry was broken into.
“Culprits entered the premises through a front window.
“A large amount of power tools and a petrol generator was stolen from the premises. Anyone who may have witnessed any persons or vehicle acting suspiciously in the area on the night in question or anyone who may have been offered any power tools or a generator for sale is asked to contact Athenry Garda Station on 091-844016.”

Gardai are also looking for the public’s help after another incident in Athenry town: “At approx. 11pm on Saturday night 22 November 2025, two apartments on North Gate Street in Athenry were broken into. Culprits caused a considerable amount of damage to the interior of the apartments which were under construction.
“Anyone who may have witnessed any persons acting suspiciously in the North gate Area of Athenry on the night in question or anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Athenry Garda Station on 091-844016.”
And finally, Gardai are on the hunt for information on a Galway city burglary:
“On Saturday night 22 November 2025 between midnight and 4:30 am a house on Doctor Mannix Rd. Lower Salthill was broken into, entry was gained through the front door of the premises.
“A number of items including a Nintendo Switch was taken from the premises.
“Anyone who may have witnessed any persons or vehicle acting suspiciously in the area on the night in question or anyone who may have been offered a Nintendo Switch for sale is asked to contact Salthill Garda Station on 091-514720.”
