The issues people in Leeds care most about have been revealed.
Every week, people in the city sign parliamentary petitions on issues that matter to them and they would like to change. They offer a good test of what matters to people the most in any given moment – and as of December 12 in Leeds, the biggest issues concern the plans to introduce digital ID cards.
This is followed by a petition to introduce offshore detention/mass deportation for illegal migrants, and the third most popular petition was for the mandatory collection and publication of certain child sexual offender data.
Only British citizens or UK residents with a valid UK postcode and verified email address can sign or create these petitions.
Any petition which acquires 10,000 signatures must be responded to by the Government, and when 100,000 signatures are reached, the issue will be debated in Parliament. MPs can also decided to consider a petition for debate before it reaches this number.
Below are the petitions signed by the most people this week in every Leeds constituency. Petitions with less than 25 signatures have been excluded.
