Linktree rolls out new AI features amid deeper Canva integration

Australian social media ‘link-in-bio’ company Linktree has launched a new suite of design tools, including AI features and a more seamless Canva integration, in a bid to assist its worldwide community of more than 70 million users, who may not have the tools, design background, or time, to give their Linktree a personal touch.

It’s the third major rollout of tools this year for the Melbourne-headquartered company, which also has offices in Sydney, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and has just over 180 employees globally.

Linktree co-founder and CEO Alex Zaccaria, who founded the platform in 2016 with his brother Anthony Zaccaria and their business partner Nick Humphreys, took to LinkedIn on Thursday to announce the latest update.

Zaccaria said Linktree was bringing it all together with new ways to design.

“So not only is Linktree the most powerful way to grow and monetise but also looks beautiful! Linkers can show up in a way that feels intentional and true to them,” he said in his LinkedIn post.

In late April 2025, Linktree introduced new ways for its users, which include creators, entrepreneurs and small business owners, to earn and monetise their content, such as through digital products, affiliate shops, courses and sponsored links.

Earlier this year, it also launched a host of tools to help users grow, such as social scheduling, lead audience management and re-engagement features.

Now Linktree is giving users a chance to use AI to analyse, restyle and enhance their profile, with the tool also offering tailored recommendations such as refreshed layouts, wallpapers, or colour schemes in order to help improve discovery and engagement.

With millions of people already using Canva to design flyers, logos and social media posts, Linktree has integrated the graphic design software platform further into its platform, where users can create and edit designs directly in Canva.

Zaccaria added most importantly, Linktree has also shipped a significant update under the hood, to how Linktrees are built and rendered.

“You’ll notice a big improvement in load times, which correlates to higher clicks and conversions for all! As well as some lovely little design elements throughout,” he said.

“For many, a Linktree is the first impression they make online. These updates are about making sure every creator, entrepreneur, or business can show up in a way that expresses who they are, without needing to be a designer.”

According to the 2023 Linktree Creator Report, users have posted more than 100 million links to 7.5 million different websites since the beginning of 2022, with the most popular sites creators are linking to being Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.

However, these big platforms make up only 25% of the total links created on Linktree, according to the report.

When asked if they had been affected by social media platforms allowing for more direct links in their bios now, Zaccaria told SmartCompany Linktree was built to solve a simple frustration, that platforms only allowed one link.

“While platforms may change the number of links they allow, Linkers keep choosing us because we are more than just a single link in bio. We have evolved into a one-stop platform where Linkers can design, monetise, and grow their presence online,” he says.

“For example, a musician can use Linktree to sell merchandise, highlight a tour, and share their latest track, all in one place. A small business can use it to capture leads, schedule social posts, and run affiliate shops. It is that breadth and simplicity that sets us apart.”
