West boots his second goal
The Dogs have quietened the home crowd with a surging move from defence with Bontempelli booting it forward to Aaron Naughton who tapped it ahead of the chasing Lions and West won the sprint to the footy before snapping the goal.
It’s his second goal of the match and it cancels out Cam Rayner’s goal earlier in the term for the Lions.

Zorko playing on
Fox Footy have reported that Zorko is going to play on and he is on the park to start the second term.
He left the ground in the first term with a foot or ankle issue and had treatment in the rooms.

QT: Brisbane 2.2 (14) to Western Bulldogs 2.1 (13)
The Lions are just ahead but there is nothing in this match. The rain hasn’t stopped it being a high-quality contest, and there is a little bit of physicality creeping in between the sides as well.
Late in the term, Dayne Zorko came back to the bench for the Lions and we will wait and see if he returns when play resumes.

Naughton goal ‘de-kneed’
Aaron Naughton looked to have kicked an agile goal after grabbing a lofted ball and kicking it home as he went over the goal line.
But the goal umpire saw the ball had cannoned into the top of his knee and not his leg so called it a behind.
The score review backed up the decision but I reckon it was such a good effort it should count as a goal as soccer allows players to knee the ball in.

Could Zorko be out?
Lions veteran Dayne Zorko seems to have hurt his foot.
He has reportedly gone down into the rooms after having treatment on the bench.
According to Fox Footy, Zorko has missed just seven matches in 14 seasons for the Lions.

Lions twice denied on the line
A quick kick from Kai Lohmann was marked on the line by Bailey Dale and then minutes later Darcy Wilmot’s shot from 60 metres out was hit back by the Dogs in the square.
The Lions are creating chances but haven’t finished their work off so far.
Ruckman Oscar McInerney just missed a shot for goal as well.

No revs but Cameron is on the board
Dayne Zorko has shown his class marking at half-back and hitting a long inside kick to Charlie Cameron at centre half-forward, and he ran inside forward 50 and booted his first goal.
Cameron didn’t give the fans his usual motorcycle revs, but John Denver’s Take Me Home, Country Roads is now ringing around the stadium.
Charlie is here and the Lions are back on top.

English puts the Bulldogs in front
Dogs ruckman, the unmanned Tim English pushed forward and pulled in an intelligent mark, knowing much of the Lions’ defensive focus would be on Sam Darcy. Look for this to be a theme all night.
English went back and kicked the goal and the Dogs have kicked two goals from three inside 50s so far.

West snaps truly
Sam Darcy showed his excellent footy instincts, winning a free kick in the middle and handballing quickly with Ed Richards sending a long kick to Aaron Naughton, who knocked the ball down for Rhylee West to collect it and snap a goal.
The Dogs are on the board. This has been a high-quality start, despite the conditions.
