Another sublime set shot from a Melbourne forward, this time Mihocek from outside the boundary line and just about 50 metres. Perfection.
The Tigers have run out of gas now. It’s looking like another 10-goal job.

Bayley Fritsch is enjoying himself now! Another goal
He had a shocking third quarter, but he’s having a very good final term.
The Melbourne pressure forced a sloppy turnover out of Broad, and Fritsch gathered and snapped off a step from 40. Demons cruising away with this game.

Kozzy Pickett has four goals on the night
Pickett was held without the ball (only briefly I should say, but he made sure the umpire saw it) and made no mistake with his set shot.
The Demons are out to a 41-point lead now and this is at risk of turning into another thumping for Richmond.

Caleb Windsor kicks a beauty! Dees look home
Windsor has been sensational tonight in what is turning into a real breakout season. Doing the tough stuff on the inside but still so damaging on the outside.
That was a glorious snap on his left-foot, the sort that hangs in the air long enough for the crowd to declare the goal well before it crosses the line. Demons nearly there.

Bayley Fritsch threads the needle and the Dees kick away
First of all, holding the ball is a total lottery tonight and Richmond’s numbers are not coming up. Totally inconsistent all evening.
Secondly, what a set shot from Fritsch. Tight to the boundary on the wrong side for a left-footer. Never looked like missing.

Kozzy Pickett! The Demons slingshot is released again!
End. To. End. Blistering footy from a kick in. Langdon strolled to the 50 unattended, kicked long to a pack where Sharp got the crumb and handballed forward. Pickett swarmed, scooped and slotted on the run.
Tigers need to be careful here. The Demons can sniff it.

Great mark from Jefferson, floating across to grab the van Rooyen kick. And the set shot split the middle.
Big moment in the game now. Can the Tigers see out this quarter and remain close on the scoreboard, or will the Dees put the foot down?

Seth Campbell pulls Richmond closer again
Hats off to Steely Green there, who made the smother from the Fritsch kick, followed up to win the ball and then delivered beautifully to the leading Campbell. Fritsch is having a shocking quarter, costing Melbourne goals at both ends.
The Tigers are not rolling over tonight and are going to keep throwing punches. Only an 11-point game.

Brody Mihocek gets the answering goal for Melbourne
It looked like one of those trademark slick Melbourne moves were unfolding, but in the end they got a helping hand from a 50m penalty. Nobody stood the mark, and Miller was somewhat in the vicinity, and this incredible rule takes another victim.
Mihocek is marched inside 50 and snaps the set shot truly. A settler.

A big contested mark from Lynch, but more importantly a beautiful set shot from 50 out.
If Lynch can get involved and get his radar right then the Tigers are right up in this one.

Mykelti Lefau strikes early in the third
Richmond continues its knack of starting quarters well tonight.
Young Xavier Taylor was a bit naive there, dragging the ball under in front of goal and allowing Lefau to pin him holding the ball. Definite free kick, easy set shot. Tigers sticking around.

Noah Balta back in the ruck
But Max Gawn is not. He is in the forward line. Gawn copped a knock to the lower back in that second quarter and has looked really sore, so perhaps he will be spending most of this second half up forward.
Big task ahead for the Tigers. Second half underway.

Been a big 10 minutes for Melbourne, and all of Richmond’s good early work has been for nothing.
Sensational pack mark from Mihocek, who has been quiet tonight but took his moment there. The Dees are now up by 27 points on the cusp of half-time.

Was that a duck and a shrug or a genuine high tackle? There were three umps in the vicinity. Two thought it was the former and one the latter. All it needed was the one whistle though.
With all due respect, the umpiring has been all over the shop tonight. Demons lead it by 21.

Harvey Langford makes it three in a row for Melbourne
Another absolutely sensational kick from Chandler inside 50. He won the hard ball at half-forward and then weighted a 40 metre pass to the stride of Langford perfectly.
Langford slots the goal and the Demons are taking control again.
