A Love Island fan favourite has faced criticism just days before the final, with their conduct being questioned.
With the Love Island final mere days away, this week has delivered no shortage of drama and upheaval. Following friends and family day, where the Islanders were reunited with their loved ones after weeks apart, the feel-good atmosphere proved short-lived.
This week marked the return of The Grafties, an awards ceremony guaranteed to stir up tension. First introduced in 2023, the show sees contestants presented with public-voted awards in categories including Flirtiest Performance.
The Islanders view the nomination clips before the winners, chosen by the public, are revealed. They must then collect their awards at a podium and deliver an acceptance speech to their fellow contestants.

The ceremony has previously generated hundreds of Ofcom complaints regarding welfare concerns, and this year’s edition has already produced heated exchanges. Only last night (July 21), Aidan faced backlash over the clips broadcast of him, particularly for flirtiest performance, reports OK!.
Yet viewers were also disappointed with Lorenzo’s “flirty” clip featuring his date with Elicia, which left Julia visibly upset. On the latest episode of the Debrief, former Islanders Jordon and Martha also weighed in on the clip, which many felt Lorenzo “downplayed”.
Jordon acknowledged: “I think Julia is more into Lorenzo than he’s into her slightly”, with Martha concurring: “Now that I’m out I feel like I can see that more clearly, looking in from an outside perspective.”
Presenter Toni quipped: “You fell for it girl”, prompting Martha to admit: “Yeah, am I naive I fell for this, you’ve got all her friends on board.” She did note, however, that Julia “genuinely does like” Lorenzo.
Discussing the footage, Shakira observed: “I think with Julia and Lorenzo as individuals they’re so loved that we sort of forget about their connection as a couple, we’re just like yeah we love them. Do we think they are the most compatible in there? I don’t think so.
“I think tonight what we saw in Lorenzo’s clip with him flirting, he massively downplayed that to Julia and I don’t think she was happy at all.”

Toni remarked: “He couldn’t even believe he said it himself.”
Following Shakira’s comment that Lorenzo even confessed “it was cringey and he was embarrassed” by what he witnessed, Toni declared: “He should be.”
She subsequently stated: “He just massively downplayed what he and Julia, what we thought they were… I’m sure Julia is hurt by that, I’m surprised she didn’t pop off more.”
In last night’s episode, Lorenzo offered an apology for the clip, describing it as a “joke” at the time. He said: “I cringed watching that because I can’t believe how overtly stupid I was.”
Viewers at home were equally unimpressed by the scenes, with one person writing on X: “They all sit and laugh but then tell Lorenzo he’s downplayed it. My face would be like cement in that situation not one part of me would find it funny.”
A second posted: “Not lorenzo laughing in Julia’s face instead of apologising.”
Despite the drama, some fans remain firmly behind the couple, with one supporter declaring: “All I’m saying is Lorenzo better be crowned the winner of love island. That boy has a heart of gold.”
Love Island airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
