Fast food outlets in Birmingham and Black Country scoop top honours in British Burger Awards 2025


The British Burger Awards 2025 has named its top hamburger providers in the West Midlands and across the country – does your favourite feature in their listings!?

The best burger joints in Birmingham, the Black Country and the West Midlands have been named in a prestigious awards ceremony.

Patty providers across the UK have been praised and recognised at the first-ever British Burger Awards 2025.

Winners were announced regionally, with Birmingham burger joints battling it out in a citywide category.

While there were also national awards in several categories with a Dudley borough eatery receiving top praise in the Burger of the Year grill off.

In Birmingham, the best burger outlet has been named as BRGR BOX in Essex Street, Southside.

An ‘outstanding achievement’ title was given to Boo in Alcester Road, Moseley.

While recognised for Excellence was HANBAO in Floodgate Street, Deritend.

Elsewhere in the West Midlands Libertine Burger in Leamington Spa received top honours for the ‘Best of’ in the region.

Grill N Shake in Hagley Road West, Oldbury was handed the outstanding achievement award in the category.

And Beef B Buns ‘N’ Buns un Station Street, Solihull was ‘recognised for excellence’.

Halesowen burger outlet, Grill Box in Windmill Hill, received the ‘outstanding achievement’ award, effectively the runner-up in the Burger of the Year People’s Choice category,

While Burger Shop in Cherry Tree Walk, Worcester, received the ‘recognised for excellence’ award in the same category.

The top burger in the people’s choice category went to Burger Drop which has outlets in Ediburgh, the north east – Newcastle, Sunderland, Whitley Bay and Middlesbrough and one in the north west in Manchester.

Two West Midlands burger outlets feature in the Best Burger from an Independent Chain, with 10 or fewer locations.

The winner was Burger Shop in Worcester, its second nod on the night after featuring above.

And The Beefy Boys in High Street Shrewsbury, which received the ‘outstanding achievement’ award (or runner up) in that category.

While the Best Burger Restaurant natrionwide gong went to Libertine Burger’s Rugby outlet.

Beyond the West Midlands, Best Independent Burger Joint went to B.U.N, in Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester.

Best Street Food Burger Vendor was Bustler Nottingham and Best Veg or Vegan Burger Restaurant went to Meet the Vegans in London.

While best People’s Choice Burger Brand in the UK was given to Chicken Cottage.

Oceanic Awards said the British Burger Awards 2025 ‘recognise not just the best burgers in the country, but the passionate people and innovative businesses that bring them to life’.

The winners were announced at the Novotel Centre in Birmingham on Monday (November 17),

Irfan Younis, spokesperson for the British Burger Awards said: “The businesses shortlisted for these awards represent the very best of the UK’s vibrant burger scene, from gourmet innovators to beloved independents serving up unforgettable flavours.

“This celebration is all about recognising the creativity, passion and hard work behind every bun, and we wanted to honour the outstanding talent shaping the nation’s burger culture.

“We would like to congratulate all of our winners on their incredible accomplishments.”
