Emmerdale star Laura Norton has shared an emotional update with her soap star partner.
The 42-year-old is widely recognised for playing Kerry Wyatt in the popular ITV soap. Kerry made her debut in the village back in 2012, arriving as Amy’s (Natalie Ann Jamieson) mother.
Throughout her time on the show, Kerry has featured in numerous significant storylines, from attempting to rebuild her bond with daughter Amy to managing her diabetes diagnosis, embarking on a romance with Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher), and fabricating a terminal illness to secure a complimentary wedding to Dan Spencer (Liam Fox).
Viewers were left stunned on Christmas Eve 2025 when Kerry unexpectedly tied the knot with Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) in a bid to safeguard the funds he had been setting aside for his grandson, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).
Off-screen, Laura shares her life with former Emmerdale star Mark Jordon. Together, they are raising five-year-old Jesse and three-year-old Ronnie, both of whom have been diagnosed with Usher Syndrome – a rare genetic condition that results in combined hearing loss, deteriorating vision, and occasionally balance difficulties, reports the Mirror.

On Thursday (February 5), Laura and Mark posted a joint message on Instagram, sharing a touching personal update following the launch of a significant Peppa Pig campaign. Accompanying a video featuring the duo, the post stated: “We’re so proud to have been involved in the launch of this wonderful campaign – Peppa’s little brother George has been diagnosed with moderate hearing loss and will wear a hearing aid.
“We were asked by @hasbro and @ndcs_uk to represent the parental side and jumped at the chance. Awareness is key and the huge positive impact this will have on children with hearing loss and their families is so exciting.
“It normalises hearing loss. Shows people with hearing loss are just like everyone else. Capable, able and resilient. It will promote empathy and understanding. Invaluable.”
The pair went on: “Excited for our own children and the whole community. We were lucky enough to watch the first 2 eps of this journey and with the advice of the @ndcs_uk it’s so authentic. Beautiful to watch. Informative, funny and moving.

Isabel Hodgins, known for her role as Victoria Sugden, responded with: “So much love,” whilst Eden Taylor-Draper, who plays Belle Dingle, chimed in: “Amazing.”
Emma Atkins, recognised for her portrayal of Charity Dingle, shared similar sentiments, commenting: “Incredible,” whilst former cast member Kelvin Fletcher also expressed: “This is incredible. Just amazing.”
Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and STV, and Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and STV as part of ITV’s new soap power hour scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale
