Katie Price’s husband Lee Andrews has been located. The self-proclaimed millionaire was reported missing on 17th May, five days after he was last spotted.

Lee claims he was arrested and detained on suspicion of espionage, and has been held at Dubai’s notorious Al Awir prison.

Katie said: “I have found him – he is alive, and he is okay.

“I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him. It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy. I don’t know much more than that right now,” she told The Sun.

It is understood Lee was arrested on Wednesday 14th May after going into hiding when he failed to board a flight to the UK, reports the Mirror.

In the days preceding his arrest, he had removed his belongings from his rented apartment and briefly moved in with his father, staying at his Dubai villa.

Lee must now pay a four-figure fine and is expected to be released on Monday.

The former glamour model initially informed fans that her husband had been kidnapped in Dubai while preparing to fly to the United Kingdom to be reunited with her. During a disturbing FaceTime call, Lee told his wife he was in the back of a van with his hands bound.

He warned Katie that people were “coming” for him, causing her considerable alarm. Five days after their last conversation, Katie filed a missing person report and revealed to fans that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the United Arab Emirates, where Lee resides, had become involved in the search.

Now, two weeks after disappearing, Lee has been located. According to the outlet, he claimed that he was arrested on Wednesday 14 May after deliberately keeping a low profile – he was allegedly detained on suspicion of espionage, alleging that he was held at the Al Awir prison in Dubai.

It has been claimed that he will now be required to pay a fine, thought to be four figures, and is expected to be released on Monday.

Worries were initially raised about Lee when he failed to join Katie on Good Morning Britain, one day before Katie last spoke to him. He was due to fly from Muscat International to be reunited with his wife for their first joint interview, despite sending a video to both Katie and Good Morning Britain, claiming he was at the airport.

However, the airport appeared to be Terminal Two of Dubai International, rather than Muscat. ITV also confirmed that a Foreign Office spokesperson informed them that the Foreign Office was assisting a British national who had been detained in the United Arab Emirates.

Subsequently, the mother-of-five shared the final text messages she said she had received from her husband’s phone, with one message reading: “Been arrested, I’ll be in touch.”

It had been suggested that Lee was being sought by Interpol, but a source tells the Mirror that this is not the case, adding that if he is being held by authorities in the United Arab Emirates it is unlikely to be connected to a report that was first received by Hertfordshire Police earlier this year.

In a statement provided to The Mirror, Hertfordshire Police subsequently said: “We’d like to clarify that Hertfordshire Constabulary received a report in March, however, once it was established the alleged offences happened in Dubai, we referred this case to the relevant authorities as this was outside of our jurisdiction.”

Katie had previously informed fans via her YouTube channel that she believed Lee had been abducted. She revealed that the location services on Lee’s phone had been switched off, and nobody was able to track him down or reach him. “Me and Lee are in constant contact all the time,” she said, adding that it was “worrying” that Lee’s location had been disabled.

Katie disclosed that she received a message stating that nobody could locate Lee in Dubai or find his last known whereabouts. “We’re now wondering, as far-fetched as it is, he’s a missing person,” she said, adding: “I don’t know if he’s been kidnapped.” She noted that there were no records of Lee at any prison or police station.

“We’re wondering if he’s been kidnapped; he’s definitely a missing person now,” she continued. However, her decision to speak publicly left Lee’s friends and family furious. Lee’s mother, psychic medium Trisha Andrews, also publicly lambasted her daughter-in-law in a scathing social media post.

Beneath a Facebook post promoting her psychic evening, one individual wrote: “Think everyone needs to leave her [Trisha] alone as she’s not responsible for Price’s drama-queen antics.” Trisha replied: “Thank you Jane it’s Katy exployting and I get all the backlash [sic].” A family friend, Rebecca, who grew up alongside Lee and his sister Kelly in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, revealed that Kelly is taking charge within the family and maintaining contact with Katie and the authorities.

“She is trying to take the strain off her mother, Trisha, and I’m trying to support both of them through this worrying time,” Rebecca told the Daily Mail. She went on to say: “Kelly wasn’t happy with the video Katie put out about him being kidnapped. That blew everything up, and it was unnecessary.”

Rebecca stated that Lee’s family are “sick with worry,” and Trisha has been left in tears, further noting that those nearest to him “don’t have the money” to travel to Dubai as his friends and family “work regular jobs”.
