Martin then spoke of the commitment and dedication of new Junior A Manager Higgy who took over from Shane Ferris mid season and thanked him for his efforts. At this stage Shane Ferris was thanked for all that he did for Cahir Park over his 4 year tenure.

Shane took on a huge challenge when he started and building the team up, he ensured we regained our Premier league status with the invaluable help of Head Coach Jonus Kerr. We are indebted to Shane for all that he did for the club and know that the A team is in good hands with Higgy at the helm.

Martin then welcomed Seanie Kiernan as Junior B Team Manager. Seanie takes the reins from Jonas Kerr who gave 4 years to B Team and also put in huge work over that time and still remains an integral part of Cahir Park where he is much valued. On behalf of Cahir Park Committee Martin wished both Junior & Youth Managers and their Teams the best of luck for the new season.

Junior A Team Manager Chris Higgins (Higgy) presented the Awards for last Season to A team players and they were – Players Player of the Year was awarded to John O’Brien, Managers Player of the Year was awarded to Craig Guiry and Joint Top Goal Scorers were awarded to John O’Brien and Willie Dunne.

For the Junior B Team Manager Seanie presented awards for Players Player of the Year to Zach Keating, Managers Player of the Year to Darragh Conway and Top Goal Scorer to Hishem Birem. Youth A Team Awards were presented by Team Manager Keith Maguire with Players Player of the Year was awarded to Sami Laaksonen, Managers Player of the Year was awarded to Callum Butler Buckley and Top Goal Scorer was awarded to Oisin Power.

Junior A Team Manager Higgy said on the night”As a member of the coaching staff I’m proud to be a part of the future of Cahir Park Soccer Club and the development of our younger talent and the guidance of the experienced players in their development as they are the future.

It was a night celebrated amongst present and past players and committee members. To the sponsors and committee members, we thank you for the tonight and for the effort throughout the season.
The awards ranged between our youths, first and second team and all recipients were truly deserved of their award.

Our players who picked up their individual accolades may not reflect as such a merit, as they are humble human beings, but maybe one day when they retire and rewind at their silverware cabinet, they will be reminded of their journey for that season and the valuation we as coaches, players or club members put on their effort & the sacrifices made.”
