Victoria Beckham has shared a heartfelt message about her family, describing husband David as her “everything” as the fallout continues with son Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz.
The Beckham clan – notably without Brooklyn – made a public appearance at a ceremony in Paris on Monday, 26 January, where Victoria received a French knighthood. The 51 year old designer was awarded the title of Chevalière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres – a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters – in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the arts and literature at the event in the French capital.
It marked the first public family gathering since Brooklyn issued his bombshell statement on Monday, 19 January.
In a damning Instagram post last week, the 26 year old aspiring chef levelled serious accusations at his parents, such as claiming Victoria “hijacked my first dance with my wife” during his wedding day. He also said that he has no wish to reconcile with his family amid their ongoing estrangement, reports OK!.
Despite the ongoing turmoil, Victoria presented a united front by posting a sweet tribute on social media about both her honour and her family. She wrote: “I’m so honoured to be named a Chevalière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture. I have always deeply admired the French aesthetic and the seriousness with which it treats fashion: as a form of art.
“So to be recognised here and embraced in this way, is a profound privilege – one that reflects decades of commitment and dedication. My sincere thanks to the French Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati for this honour.”
She also heaped praise on her family and her husband of 26 years, David, adding: “Thank you also to business partners who believed in me, my family, and especially David – my husband, and original investor. I couldn’t be more grateful, you are my everything xx.”
During her acceptance speech at the ceremony, Victoria remarked: “I’d like to start by thanking the French Ministry of Culture and the Minister of Culture, Madame Rachida Dati. For this honour and for your kind words, I am extremely grateful. I am so proud to be British, but France is one of the few places where fashion is treated with the seriousness it deserves as a form of art.”
The former pop star gave a heartfelt acknowledgement to the staff behind her Victoria Beckham fashion and cosmetics empire, whilst also honouring her parents and children. Victoria stated: “This is not the achievement of just one person. From design and the atelier, to the production and communication teams, and the many minds and hands working together – it is a collaborative effort, and this distinction isn’t mine alone. So I’d like to thank my incredible team for their dedication, creativity and trust.”
She continued: “Thank you to my parents and to my children who are always believing in my vision.”
Proud husband David also paid tribute to Victoria, writing on Instagram: “We are so proud of you and all that you have achieved @victoriabeckham. Being named a Chevalière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture… nobody deserves it more than you x We love you.”
Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel and Romeo’s partner Kim Turnbull were also in attendance at the ceremony, with Romeo sharing similar sentiments to his father David on Instagram afterwards. On Tuesday morning, he posted: “No one deserves this more than you xx love you mum.”
Elsewhere, Brooklyn shared a lengthy video montage on TikTok of an apparent getaway with wife Nicola, including shots of them hugging and kissing.
