Australia vs India live

37th over – Brown in again

She’s still around the wicket to Pratika, but wide of off stump and cut away for one. I’m not sure about that tactic from Brown.

36th over – King to spin a few more up

The wait for the first wicket today goes on. King to Pratika.

Big spin past the outside edge. Too much spin, if anything. Nobody can nick that.

And again. Alana King at her best here.

Just the one from that over as Pratika cuts out to the point sweeper from the last ball. Good bowling, but no breakthrough.

35th over – It’s going to be Brown again

Brown comes around the wicket to Pratika and digs in a short one, which Pratika taps away to the leg side for one more.

Rana looks far more comfortable against the seam of Brown compared to King’s leggies. She’s ducking the short ones and getting well forward to drive the full ones.

Until she is struck on the inside thigh from the final ball of the over. That one hurt. One from the over.

34th over – King again

Really good flight from King, up above Pratika’s eyeline. Nice and slow, nice and tempting.

Then she scoots one through and Pratika cuts it to point for a single. And that is Pratika Rawal’s 50, a fine innings in trying circumstances. Could she be India’s hero?

FOUR! Well swept by Rana, very fine and all the way to the rope. First time King has really missed her line.

Five runs from that over.

33rd over – Brown to bowl again

Pratika on strike, defending from the crease.

FOUR RUNS! Glorious pull shot from Pratika, perfectly timed and controlled through square leg.

Pratika gets a thick inside edge from the final ball of the edge, taking it to fine leg for a single.

Rana will be happy enough with that, because that means Pratika will have to deal with King.

32nd over – King to bowl her second over

Rana on strike, not normally one to hang around watching for too long.

There are two slips in for King now, and a short leg as well. Really attacking field.

Rana charges, retreats and then nearly guides one straight to first slip. Just short, luckily for India.

BEAUTY! One of those perfect Alana King leg breaks. The only thing missing was the clip of the off bail.

That is a sensational over, another maiden.

31st over – Darcie Brown from the other end

Brown bowled well last night, but her only wicket came from the second ball of the innings. She’s got Pratika on strike to begin with, and is still finding plenty of outswing with an older ball.

LBW SHOUT! Looked pretty good to me, but the appeal is muted. Maybe some inside edge on it? No review for that one. A bit high as well maybe. Possibly missing leg. Good shout apart from all that.

Brown is peppering away at Pratika’s front pad and thigh. That’s a maiden over from the seamer to start her day three work.

30th over – Alana King will bowl the first over of the day

Glorious sunshine in Perth this afternoon on a deck that should be very nice for batting on. There is still an opportunity here for India, should the lower order be up for taking it.

Alana King will kick off the day which is fun. She only bowled a few overs in the first innings and copped it a little, so let’s see how she goes this time. Sneh Rana on strike, Pratika Rawal at the other end.

Rana drives through the off side for one to begin the day.

Beauty there from King, big turn past Pratika’s outside edge.

Really good over from King, six balls on the money. Pratika nudges a single to point from the final ball to keep the strike.

One last knock for Alyssa Healy?

There’s still a slight chance Australia won’t have to bat its second innings, though India only needs another 20 runs to remove that possibility. But it’s likely Australia will only face a pretty small run chase when they get out there later today.

Alyssa Healy batted at number four in the first innings, but does she get a promotion in her farewell match? Annabel Sutherland certainly hopes so:

“I’d love to see it.

“I’m sure a few will be encouraging her. But you never know, you might see her with the ball first.”

Did she just say “with the ball”? Alyssa Healy celebrity overs coming up at the WACA?

Catch up on yesterday’s cricket

(Getty Images)

Yesterday was a good day to be Annabel Sutherland. She breezed to a fourth Test century, setting up the match in partnership with Ellyse Perry, and then popped up later with the ball to dismiss both Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur. She’s been the star of this show and the difference in the game.

Shout outs also to Lucy Hamilton on debut, who has bowled magnificently, and Perry who missed out on another ton but batted beautifully for 76.

India’s Pratika Rawal is still fighting for the tourists and saw the innings to stumps last night with grit and class. They’ll need plenty more from her again today to stand any chance at all.

Welcome to day three at the WACA

(Getty Images)

Hello, and welcome back to ABC Sport’s live blog coverage of the women’s Test between Australia and India in Perth. We’ve reached day three, which looks very much like being the final day of this Test and series with Australia seemingly closing in on victory.

The Aussie bowling performance last night under the lights was devastating and has India scrambling to make a game of this. With only four wickets remaining India still trails by 20 runs, and will need the lower order to produce something special to set up the chance for a miraculous comeback with the ball.

No matter what happens on the field though, this is set to be a special day as we are set to say goodbye to Alyssa Healy, for whom retirement awaits. Her teammates will be determined to send her out a winner, so expect no complacency from the Australian ranks today.

It’s all ahead of us! So get comfy and stick around as we enjoy a little more Test cricket this summer.
