I’m A Celebrity star Vogue Williams has revealed that she suffered an ‘absolute meltdown’ in the Australian jungle which she asked ITV ‘not to show’.

The Irish TV presenter, who is married to Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews, arrived on the Ant and Dec series as a late arrival alongside Tom Read Wilson. Upon their introduction, the pair served as chief explorers of the bush explorers’ club.

During her time on the programme, Vogue threw up on live television when she was taking part in the show’s first live trial in five years. The moment arrived when she was unable to keep a smoothie down, which was made up of gross ingredients.

Vogue was seen leaving I’m A Celebrity on Sunday night (November 30), becoming the third star at that stage to receive the least public votes. Only former footballer Alex Scott and comedian Eddie Kadi left before her.

On Friday (December 5), Vogue returned to her hit podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me alongside her co-host Joanne McNally. Speaking about her time in the jungle, Vogue revealed that she suffered a panic attack after Joanne noted that someone asked her if ‘she was okay’.

Vogue recalled: “Well, loads of people were like ‘she looks sad.’ But the thing about it is you are filmed all day long and there are so many cameras in the camp and I don’t walk around smiling all day long everyday but I was generally quite happy in there. I did have one incident because you know I’m just crazy about my sleep.

“And if I don’t sleep I get anxious and that’s why I worry so much about my sleep. So, I didn’t sleep that night and then we went out and did the trial another night with the cockroaches and then I was like right I’m not going to sleep tonight. And I started having an absolute meltdown just lying there like ‘please sleep, please sleep, please sleep’.

“And I had to go up to the BT, so it’s the Telegraph where you do all the chats, I started having a panic attack. I was like [out of breath noises] ‘please don’t show this because everyone will see how mental I am’. I just couldn’t control it and went into full panic mode.”

She continued: “They are actually so nice when that happens because they’re like ‘you’re okay, it’s fine don’t worry’ and they are trying to just talk you through it. And then the next day I was like ‘I need to talk to Sandra’ who is the psych.

“Because I was so panicked that night because my anxiety just hit ninety and I was like I just have to get rid of this. Went and spoke to her and she just completely reset me and for that whole day I was like I’m totally fine now.”

When it comes to being one of the two late arrivals, Vogue noted that it ‘probably made it a little bit harder’. The first ten celebrities were seen spending time with each other in four episodes before she and Tom arrived.

“Now when I watch some of the footage back I’m like ‘oh, they were a bit annoyed that we’d come in’. But there’s always a couple of late comers and it wasn’t my choice to go in late they kind of chose me.

“And I was thrilled at the time because obviously I got more time with the kids and I was delighted. And I still am delighted because it just meant I was away for less time. I think I left on day thirteen and although I was ready to leave. Obviously, I would have stayed longer,” she stated.

Another moment which left fans concerned for Vogue when it appeared that she hurt her knee when making her way to a Bushtucker Trial. Explaining what happened, Vogue said: “Okay, so when we were in the jungle we were always bored so we were making up games.

“And when we got to go out, like when you’re going to do a trial or a challenge, we would cross these bridges. And the bridges were quite bouncy and full metal bridges with netting across the side. And we were racing ourselves to see if we could try and get our time down and someone had got thirty-six seconds so I was like I’m going to run.

“So, I basically ran and then I tripped and fell on the bridge and I took a big gouge out of my knee. But then when I crossed there was a doctor there and I went straight to the trial.”
