Utility Trust St Pauls won at home today in the Dominos Women’s Super League.
They beat SETU Waterford Wildcats 95-93 after overtime.

Basketball Ireland review:
Ballincollig registered their 10th consecutive league win to maintain top spot in the Domino’s Men’s Super League, following their 81-75 victory over Limerick Celtics on Sunday. Among their key performers for the Cork outfit were Latavious Mitchell and Josh Steel, who both posted double doubles, with 19 and 17 points respectively, along with 10 rebounds apiece. The sides will meet again on Friday in the Domino’s MSL National Cup semi-finals.
Belfast Star remain on their coat-tails, following a 115-92 road win at EJ Sligo All-Stars. Shane Bell top scored for the victors on 24 points, with Roger Wilson posting 17 points and a11 rebounds, while Ireland international Aidan Quinn helped himself to 17 points in the victory, which leaves them second on a 9-3 record.
Griffith College Éanna are third, following a 90-81 Dublin derby success over in-form UCD Marian. Éanna had six players in double figures, with Kristijan Andabaka top scoring on 22 points. Ireland international James Gormley had 16 points and eight rebounds in their win, to move them to 8-4 for the season.
Defending champions UCC Demons are bottom of the Domino’s Men’s Super League table, following a 95-77 loss to Cork rivals Energywise Ireland Neptune. Neptune held as much as a 21-point lead over Demons. Tamyrik Fields dropped a 24-point and nine-rebound game on Saturday, but it was Samuel Henderson for Neptune who led the way with 28 points. Henderson had a strong supporting cast with Michael Hayes having 18 points and 14 boards and Adon Gregorio scored 23. The win now has Neptune at 3-9 for the season and leaves Demons at 2-10.
Killester’s Dublin derby with St. Vincent’s was rescheduled and takes place on January 1st.
FloMAX Liffey Celtics downed Domino’s Women’s Super League leaders Killester 86-74, to inflict just a second defeat of the season on Mark Grennell’s side. For Liffey it was their fourth league win in a row, to bump them to an even 5-5 record for the season and give them a major boost as they continue their defence of the Domino’s WSL National Cup against Trinity Meteors in the semi-finals next Saturday.
Liffey Celtics led by 30 points as they entered the final quarter of action. Still, a 29-11 final quarter made the scoreline more respectable for Killester, who were missing their points leader, Samantha Haiby. Michelle Clarke and Audrey Roden scored 23 each to try fill the void. However, 22 points from Ireland international Sorcha Tiernan and 16 each from Brooke Kane and Katie Williamson powered Liffey to victory.
Cork derby bragging rights went the way of Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell, who defeated UCC Glanmire 97-72 to leave them in second. Brailyn Joseph and Maddie Cluse hit 28 points apiece for the victors, with 12 and eight rebounds respectively too. Viane Cumber was the leading light for Glanmire, posting a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Claire O’Sullivan had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Third-placed Utility Trust St. Paul’s are level pegging with Brunell on a 7-3 record, following a hard-fought 95-93 win over SETU Waterford Wildcats. Maisie Burnham had 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Ireland international Lorraine Scanlon and Lovisa Hevinder both contributed 22 points for the Kerry side. There was a welcome return for Ireland international Sarah Hickey to the Wildcats team after missing the last two gameweeks, she posted a massive 28 points and 13 rebounds in their loss.
Catalyst Fr. Mathews wait for a win in the Domino’s Women’s Super League continues, they were edged 82-78 at Midlands Park Portlaoise Panthers. Laila Blair again led their charge with 28 points, however Panthers had scoring evenly spread with four players in double figures, headed by Alyssa Velles’ 21 point haul.
McEvoy’s Cavan Eagles host Trinity Meteors on Monday at 5pm.
