Katie Price’s ex-husband has voiced his concerns following her unexpected fourth wedding, stating: “It’s irresponsible on your family and the children to marry someone you don’t know.”

Alex Reid, Katie’s second husband who was married to her from 2010 to 2012, now describes their marriage as a “pantomime” and “a business deal” that he wasn’t aware of.

Following Katie’s recent marriage to Lee Andrews in Dubai, where they met just days before in a ‘quickie’ service, Alex told The Mirror: “It’s almost like she doesn’t live in the real world.”

He questioned: “Is he going to move to the UK? Or is she going to move to Dubai?” adding: “I don’t get her. I was married to her, and I don’t get her. I don’t think she knows herself.”

Alex, 50, went on to say: “I genuinely wish the man good luck marrying her,” adding: “I hope the marriage lasts longer than the court-ordered debts that she still owes me and to many others, demonstrating accountability and responsibility.”, reports the Mirror.

“It’s not really her strong point. Maybe, he could be the best thing in the world to happen to her. He could help her pay her debts and be more accountable with money.”

While Katie may be over the moon, it seems this isn’t the case for some of those closest to her. Insiders close to the former model, 47, were completely unaware of her engagement or her wedding.

Katie had only met her new husband days earlier, having initially connected via Instagram direct messages.

Alex commented: “Her family said they’re distraught, I read – I can understand that. It must not be nice for the kids, the younger ones, they don’t even know this guy.”

Discussing Lee, who professes to be a millionaire, he remarked: “He could be madly in love, good for him if he is. Or could he be doing it for publicity? Who knows. I hope he’s in it for love and is a great moral influence – that would be nice.”

Alex acknowledges he’s not in a position to offer guidance to her new spouse, but noted: “If he’s real, he knows what he’s doing. You can’t acquire the amount of wealth he has and be successful in his business without being astute.”

MMA fighter Alex, who began dating Katie shortly after her separation from Peter Andre, also tied the knot in similarly dramatic circumstances – by jetting off to Las Vegas. He now reveals he splashed out an eye-watering £90,000 on Price’s engagement and wedding rings.

He explained: “The difference is I had been with her for seven months, that’s still nowhere near enough time to know someone.”

He went on to say that prior to meeting Katie, he was an “alpha male” but became a “gopher”.

Katie’s unexpected engagement and swift marriage occurred merely days after news broke that she and her partner, JJ Slater, 33, had ended their relationship after roughly three years. “Maybe the romance was dead a long time ago, but poor JJ,” Alex observed, before adding: “I can’t talk – I got with Katie after Peter.”

He continued: “Responsibility and trust are the foundation of a successful marriage and to this point, she hasn’t shown any of her husbands she’s capable of holding those values.”

Alex admits he was “madly in love” with Katie but now believes their relationship wasn’t “real love”. He explained: “I now know what real love is with my children and current partner,” adding: “It’s that we have absolute trust and got each other’s backs, I never felt that [with Katie].”

Alex, a practising Christian, said his marriage vows “meant something” to him, but claims his marriage to Price was “a show, it was a pantomime”.

Their nuptials were broadcast by ITV in the three-part special, Katie and Alex: For Better For Worse, which documented their summer wedding in the UK and honeymoon. The former couple reportedly received a six-figure sum for the programme, which first aired on 14 July 2010.

The Mirror has contacted Katie Price’s spokesperson for comment.
