Hundreds of well-loved children’s titles have been withdrawn from sale across Ireland owing to a potential safety concern.
Ladybird Books Limited is recalling certain editions of Ladybird Peppa Pig and Hey Duggee picture books aimed at youngsters. Around 856 affected items are currently in circulation throughout the Republic of Ireland.
A glittery varnish finish applied to the books may begin to lift away. Should children put these fragments in their mouths, there’s a potential choking risk.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has advised that anyone who purchased one of the affected titles should cease using it straight away and ensure it’s kept away from children.
Those who’ve bought these products should check the book’s ISBN and Unique Print Number to confirm whether their copy is included in the recall. Affected books can be taken back to the shop where they were bought for a full refund, with no receipt necessary, reports Dublin Live.
For additional details or if you have concerns regarding this recall, Ladybird customer services can be reached via email at customersupport@penguinrandomhouse. co. uk.
The Unique Print Number and Print Location details are found on the copyright page within each book.
