Motorist admits ignoring test fail after being caught on A46

A motorist admitted ignoring failing her test and continued to drive after being caught on the A46. Members of Warwickshire Police’s Operational Patrol Unit stopped a Hyundai on the A46 near to Leek Wooton.

The team then discovered that the driver had a provisional licence and admitted to having failed her test recently but continued to drive without supervision or L plates. She was reported to court and the vehicle seized.

It was one of more than dozen cars to be taken off the streets by OPU officers during their recent shift.

A Honda Jazz was stopped on Newbold Road in Rugby and the team found that the driver was a provisional licence holder, and stated he was driving on his international licence, despite having been in the UK for over 12 months. The car was seized and driver reported.

Officers stopped a grey Audi by the Ropewalk Shopping Centre in Nuneaton and found that it had no insurance. The car was also prohibited due to it having a broken suspension strut.

A blue Ford Transit was stopped just off the A444 in Bedworth, due to having not stopped following a collision in Coventry. There was a policy of insurance in place, but not for the person driving the vehicle. The vehicle seized and driver reported to court

The team stopped a silver Fiesta on Camp Hill Road in Nuneaton and the driver had a provisional licence but had no supervisor or L plates. There was no insurance, Tax or MOT on the vehicle either.

A silver Golf was stopped on Hinckley Road in Nuneaton, and the driver was a provisional licence holder with no supervisor or L plates.

The Citroen C5 was stopped on the A45 near Toll Bar Island, the driver had been informed his policy of insurance had been cancelled but continued driving.

A blue Peugeot was stopped on Weddington Road in Nuneaton, and it had not been taxed for an extended period of time. The vehicle was seized and its keeper reported to DVLA.

The team stopped a black Mercedes on Friary Road in Atherstone. and found that the driver had no insurance and the driver was on a provisional licence.

A Nissan Note was seized on Galba Avenue in Nuneaton after it was discovered that the driver held a provisional licence and had no supervisor or L plates.

Officers seized a blue Mini just off the Coton Arches in Nuneaton after discovering that the driver held a Romanian driving licence, but he has been disqualified from driving in the UK..

An Audi A4 was stopped on Newtown Road in Bedworth. The driver had no insurance so the vehicle seized and driver was reported to court.

Officers seized a Citroen C4 on Bruce Williams Way in Rugby. They found that the driver had no driving licence and wasn’t insured to drive the vehicle.

A Toyota Corolla was stopped on Kingswood Road in Nuneaton. The driver was driving on an provisional licence, having been in the UK for over 12 months so could no longer drive on his international licence.

The team stopped a white Ford Transit on Ansley Road in Nuneaton and found that the driver had no insurance, tax or MOT. The vehicle seized and driver reported to court.

A grey Toyota was stopped on Emscote Road, Warwick. The driver was delivering but had no insurance in place to be able to do so. the vehicle seized and the driver reported.
