Numerous Love Island viewers found themselves making the same observation after previously unbroadcast footage featuring one contestant was at last revealed.
Audiences have become thoroughly absorbed by the current series of ITV’s popular dating reality programme. Now in its 13th series, the channel has pledged surprising developments and no shortage of drama.
Thus far, it has lived up to those promises within just the opening week. There have already been several bombshell entrances, a fake elimination, recoupling outbursts and one Islander has departed the Villa after merely days.
Despite programmes broadcasting six days per week, there’s invariably substantial content that audiences don’t see. Consequently, they’re treated to a special spin-off episode each Saturday titled Love Island Unseen Bits, reports OK!

Presented by comedian Iain Stirling, it provides a more playful glimpse at moments that don’t reach the final edit during the main programme. It also features recurring comedy segments including ‘what happens next’ and ‘Love Islanders get scared by something’.
This weekend marked the inaugural episode of the present series’ Unseen Bits. It broadcast on Saturday (June 6) at 10pm on ITV2 and remains accessible for supporters to view via ITVX.
Those who watched were swiftly surprised by one particular Islander who commanded attention. Lorenzo had generated controversy following the opening episode when he incorrectly described Jasmine as ‘promiscuous’. Yet it appears the 28 year old entrepreneur has a far more playful side than initially evident. At one stage, he cheekily describes Aidan as a ‘top tart’.
Subsequently, he appears to create the peculiar chat-up line, “What’s your junction” while attempting to educate his fellow housemates about London’s geography and the neighbouring counties.
One morning in the bedroom, he likens Aidan to Lord Farquad from Shrek, even delivering an impression of the animated antagonist. This prompts uproarious laughter from the other Islanders.

Later, after Ellie departs from a discussion about books, confessing she is ‘not a reader’, Lorenzo swiftly jokes that the lads were actually debating ‘foreign literature’ and quips they are arranging a Swedish trip ‘for the culture’.
Those watching at home were surprised that this aspect of Lorenzo’s character hadn’t featured in previous episodes. One viewer questioned on social media: “Why does Lorenzo have a personality suddenly?”
Another enquired: “”Lorenzo?? Being witty and personable??” While someone else added: “This is what I’m saying, he’s actually got a great personality he’s just got no game””
One viewer insisted that such moments deserve greater prominence in the main programme. They stated: “Producers need to add more personality clips into the episodes instead of leaving all of them to the Unseen Bits.”
Another viewer suggested this is an ongoing issue: “It’s the same issue every year, there’s always a few people everyone thinks are boring or ‘nothing special’ but then they’re really funny or charismatic on Unseen Bits. It’s frustrating because a lot of people don’t watch it, so we never get the full scope of someone’s character, especially the quieter ones or those who aren’t at the centre of drama!”
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. Love Island Unseen Bits airs Saturdays at 10pm on ITV2
